A 500ml bottle with a BB of May 2017. Picked up recently from B&M. Named after the founder of Walsitch maltings in Burton-on-Trent, the home of Tower brewery.
A: Poured into a pint mug. A rich coppery-amber hue with good clarity and plentiful carbonation. Forms a decent head of white foam that lasts for a minute or so before subsiding and dissipating.
S: Aroma of subtle caramel malt, faint leafy hops and ale yeast. Subdued but not unpleasant.
T: Tastes of mild caramel malt with hints of leafy hops, ale yeast and a twinge of cardboard in the background. Perhaps a whisper of sulphur. Pretty dry, with a slight leafy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a somewhat watery body. Aftertaste of leafy hops, yeast and faint malt.
O: So-so; a traditional ale that lacks depth or charisma. Looks OK, while the aroma and flavour are balanced but very mild. Average body. No off-notes, but it just feels like the flavour is spread too thin. Possibly better on cask? Drinkable but no need to seek it out.

Clear amber. Thin head.
Nutty malt aroma. Sweetness detected but not much there.
Little flavour but what there is reflects the smell.
Rather thin. Too well carbonated for an English Bitter.

The bottle was 99p from Aldi
I've said it before but I'll say it again
Cheap & nasty beer is cheap & nasty
well more flavourless.
Took a sip, not one bit of flavour
downed half a hardly noticed it or tasted it
listening to Refuse-Resist by Sepultura & to quote them
'What is this shit?'
