Commercial description: "One of our most complex beers yet. A Belgian style wheat beer with 100 lbs of orchard fresh bing & Rainier cherries, plus 5 months of French-oak wine barrel conditioning and finally secondary fermentation in the bottle! Just 20 cases available, 750ml champagne bottles. Brewed 07/2006."
Thanks to DYCSoccer17 for sharing this rare bottle at the RBSG 08 Grand Tasting. Pours a dark orangish red into my La Chouffe goblet. Head is wet and white, leaving sticky lacing everywhere. Aroma is subtle fresh cherry juice with a touch of vanilla. Flavor is wheaty banana ester with a subdued cherry note. This beer could have benefited from more cherry flavor, but it's still a perfectly acceptable witbier. Nice medium body and carbonation. Easy to drink.
