No longer brewed, this may have been the best brew the almaza brasserie ever came up with. It's name was dedicated to one of the most beautiful regions in lebano. It's taste was full of flavour, but like the almaza pilsner, it was far too fizzy, and more like an adult soft drink than a real beer.

Produced and bottled by Brasserie Almaza s.a.l. Product of Lebanon. Ingredients listed as water, malted barley, maize and hops. Not sure about that there maize, we'll have to see how it goes...
50cl brown bottle with a short neck and stumpy body. White label with red lettering, and a two-sailed yacht motif on the front. Freshness date 09/10/07, brewed exactly one year before that.
Pours a light yellow colour with a very bright white coarse-bubbled head, fed by lots of vigorous carbonation. Head collapses under its own weight after a while, leaving only a few sticky remnants on the side of the glass.
Nose is quite bready and floury, with a little crispness reminiscent of cheap champagne. A lot of carbon dioxide builds up in the top of the glass with pouring as well. This is a very heavily carbonated brew.
Taste is a little sweet and again a little grainy. Hints of that blighted maize, the syrup sweetness coagulating on the back of your tongue. Finishes with a zing of the metallic, probably the only mention of the hops. It's not the sharp zesty bitterness that makes a really good pilsener.
Mouthfeel is overcarbonated, but it does add a little life to the beer.
Overall, this is probably a vetter beer than some Middle Eastern offerings, but by no means a stand out on its own merits. Possibly a tad crisper and more drinkable than the generic, but overall pretty mediocre.
