Appearance - Light amber in color. Good head, good retention.
Smell - Mostly malty sweetness, and not a strong aroma at that. There is little hop aroma. Smells fresh. I would prefer stronger scents out of an ale.
Taste - This is essentially a pale or amber ale with rye malt added in. Hops and malt are pretty well balanced. The rye gives the beer a unique twist. This stuff was super fresh, and very tasty.
Mouthfeel - Good body, in line with an American pale or amber ale. This beer was perhaps a little grittier, possibly due to the use of rye.
Drinkability - This beer is definitely worth a try. Rye beers are not my favorite, so to me it is not as drinkable as many other ales.
Comments - This is a well made rye beer. The rye is not overdone, and its other characteristics are pretty well balanced.
