On cask at Volo's Cask Days. Pours a dark brown colour with thin tan head. Some mild lacing on the glass. Smells of citrus hops that is complemented well by the roast and some coffee. Bitterness is forward in the flavour, still has sweetness from the malt though. Smooth mouthfeel. Very well made Cascadian Dark Ale.

Probably the pick of the casks at the 2010 edition of cask days.

Dark brown body bordering on black with a finger of frothy tan head. Big leafy, resiny aroma, with grapefruit in the background and a lingering roast. Leafy and resiny hops bring a nice bitterness to the flavour, but roasted malts add a nice coffee accent to balance it. Good bitterness. Smooth carbonation and spot on cask body makes this one easy drinking.

Exceptional. Nice work fellas!

Enjoyed on cask at Volo Cask Days 2010. The hop aroma wafts at me. This was the last sample served in perhaps the most popularly ordered beer in the first two of three days of the festival. A blackbier character with big IBU, like a 1.5 times IPA. Dark colour, under average mouthfeel.Had again a House ales Fest, 8 months later and hit the style.
