On tap at the House Ales launch party at Volo. Served in a tulip. A rye pale ale.
Poured a hazy orange, with some copper and browner shades to be found within. A nice offwhite head that falls to a collar. Nose has some orange, cat piss (Simcoe?), light tropical notes and mild breadiness. Taste has some peachy hops, some mild citrus (a la orange) but more tropical notes again. Some mild lemon, faint breadiness. Not alot of the rye character comes through, and feels more represented in the body of the beer than in the flavour profile. Good weight to the body, almost full and coating. Easy drinking with a moderate hop bitterness.

House Ales Fest at Volo, a rye IPA. Some bitterness. Almost no head on orange yellow. Some spice, orange taste.Average mouthfeel. OK drinkability.Hate the name. Not too complex, but not too bad in a pinch.Room for improvement, starting with more rye.
