On tap at the House Ales launch party at Volo, into a tulip. A Black dubbel, brewed with cocoa, orange peel and coconut.

Poured a very dark brown, almost opaque for the better part. Almost no head initially, and no retention. Nose has chocolate, brown sugar, sweeter notes (maybe imparted by the coconut?), molasses and rum. Very mild vinous notes. Steve indicates that they used Rochefort yeast in this batch, and that's likely the source of the rum/molasses sweetness here. Nice. Taste coats the mouth nicely with some good body, molasses, rum, brown sugar. Cocoa comes thorugh prominently and quite nicely. Not overly sugary by any stretch. Light alcohol, and this adds a nice touch to the flavour profile. Mouthfeel is almost full, coating and a nice residual spice note is left on the palate. This really hit its stride a couple degrees cooler than room temp. Great stuff guys, 2/2 in my books!

House Ales Fest at Volo. Better as it warms. Initially water and chocolate, with chocolate aroma. No head, black chocolate colour. Middling mouthfee as it warmed, winey richer flavour. Good drinkability. Seemed a little boozier than recorded a.b.v. Liked this the most of the half dozen I had.
