Near black in colour, whisps of tan coloured head, no lace to mention. Smell is quite roasted, lots of hop as well, pine, some chocolate and a bit of alcohol as well. Taste is full of concentrated piney hops, some citrus and fruity flavours as well, rosat is in the secondary with some chocolate flavours as well. Lightly carbonated, medium weight, lots of oils present, good feel. I thought this was just ok and I think I would rate this higher on tap, cask may not let this one live up to its full potential.

On cask at Volo.

Beer is black. A bit of a bubbly beige head. Good lacing.

Bright tropical fruit and citrus fruit in the nose, blended with roasted malt. Orange sticks out. Both sides of this style pretty apparent.

Taste is a nice mix of tropical fruit and roasted malt. Very well balanced between them, allowing both to shine. Chocolate, pineapple, mango. Very yummy.

Medium to full bodied. Moderate carbonation. A bit oily.

Overall, very good indeed! An excellent Black IPA.

Bar Volo one-off event, though they do rotate this on from time to time.Spot on extreme Black IPA. Lots of roast, black with creamy head. Hoppy and roasty but a sipper.Above average mouthfeel.Big, picking up a notch of the brewpub, and worth a good rating.
