Poured into a paper cup: color is straw gold, head is off white with fine to small bubbles, head presents 1/4 inch thick then dissipates to thin solid top.
Smell is light sweet malt, toast, biscuit, light herbal and grasses hop.
Taste is similar with toast, pils, light sweetness, hops are notable but not emphatic with earth and herbal notes.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate sweetness.
Overall a very good Maibock - subtle nose, moderate malt, light but notable hop character. Sought this out and found around NE PR.

Residente Maibock from Puerto Rico (purchased in Culebra). 12oz tall can, served in a pint glass. 6.8% ABV according to the can. Brewed with barley malt and select grains! Pours pale copper in color, extremely clear, but forms a nice thick head.
Negligible aroma, flavor is a bit sickly sweet. Some bitterness in the flavor, but it doesn't really reach any kind of balance with the malt / grain. It's not bready or toasty, and it doesn't have the distinct taste of Munich malt. It's just kind of... not great tasting. It doesn't burn as much as a bad 6.8% beer could, but then again hoppy IPAs have been 6.8% ABV while remaining super tasty for years.
Still probably a better choice than Medalla.
