I liked this white ipa very much, on tap at front range bbq, which makes some of the best food in that genre in all of colorado. it pours very pale hazy yellow, almost like a wit in appearance, maybe a little darker and a little more substance, but not much. the nose on it is great too, with the fruitiness of the yeast (which is very belgian) taking on a pear complexion, and the hops match well with it. not over hopped though, it tastes almost more like a belgian pale. the malt is super light, maybe pils type only, or some base two row, but this is super light, especially for its abv, it drinks like a session beer or a summer seasonal. the hops arent bitter, more floral and herbaceous, quite reserved though, as much a pale ale as an ipa really. what makes it for me is the carbonation, which is very radiant, and the dry finish, which i always look for and respond well to in belgian styles. overall its nice to see bristol keep coming out with new beers beyond their core stuff, and its a versatile beer that should have broad appeal. i like it better than their compass ipa, for whatever thats worth.
