A true winner from bristol.
Pours jet black into my Paulaner pils glass, but appears mahagony on the bottom of the glass. Bubbles cling to the sides by the 100s. Light tan tan head fluffs up to about 4 fingers and then drops off ever so gradually.
Smell: Toasted malt, licoricw, slight smokiness, and and alcohol
Taste: Licorice, dryness, frutiness, molasses hints, sweetness in finish, very true to style, very warming
MF: Slick, but slightly chewy, perfect balance
What's not to like? This should stay in the year-round rotation!
