Bought a 750ml bottle of this (I think, or it may be a revised version of it as it is named Dubbel 2). Poured a brilliant brownish amber color that is pretty hazy. nice 2 finger head and retention is great.
Not very aromatic but you do get some caramel and bread with a slight Belgian yeast and spice.
Taste is prune and brown sugar and some caramel notes - very rich and enjoyable - is a bit sweet - not as much spice comes through the taste (slight anise and clove).
Feel is a nice medium body that has ample amounts of carbonation.
Overall this is a very tasty brew. I was pleasantly surprised with how good this one was. I like Bristol but rarely try different brews from them because I live in the same town. Their brews are usually good but just standard and nothing outstanding. I would buy this one again for sure.

Caged/Corked
Bottled Conditioned
This bottle could have over 2 years on it.
Poured into a chalice a pretty nice light brown color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice one-finger plus creamy/foamy off-white head, which leaves a pretty nice small island and some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some nice grapes, apples notes. The taste is malty, slightly yeasty, with some fruity notes, sweet, slightly bitter. Medium body, ABV is hidden very well. Overall, this is a nice take on the style.

Bristol Belgian dubbel from a 750ml bottle.
Looks as expected.
Aroma is OK. Flavor too, although lacking in complexity.
Improved with a little warming.

Burnt orange body; very fine dense and creamy head. Toasted malt and candi sugar smells; malty. Light brown sugar flavor; sweet but with an earthy bitterness; light phenols. Heavy body yet hinting at something lighter; a little weak and watery it seems; sticky sweetness on the palate.
It's been a long time since I last tried this beer. It's eye appeal is incredible yet the taste and mouthfeel leave a bit to be desired. Still, a solid malt-forward beer in the Belgian dubbel style.
------------------------
Poured a reddish copper body with a thick, sticky, chunky white head; lots of rings down the glass. Sweet, fruity aroma with hints of cloves, cinnamon, and caramel malts. Good malt flavor with an expressive but unobtrusive bitterness; a bit boozy; hints of raisin. Medium body; sugary smooth.
An excellent offering from Bristol Brewing. They appear to have locked into a classic dubbel style and characteristics. Well-balanced overall with an easy complexity that draws you into an enjoyable Belgian-style beer experience.
