Our only single-hop brew to date, this 6% New England IPA showcases all of the complexities of the versatile Simcoe hop. Light lemony zest with bold resinous citrus characteristics, finishing with notes of mandarin orange rind and a little bit of spice. We are in love with the Simcoe!

16 oz can
pours clear until the very end of the can when the sediment pours in and clouds the glass. Lighter golden orange in color, head that fades. Pretty nice aroma - good mix of fruity citrus and dank earthy hops. similar flavor, starts mildly sweet and finishes quite bitter and a touch astringent. not really a soft mouthfeel like a NEIPA should have - medium bodied, lower carbonation.

Poured from a can, dated 1/8/18.
Looks like a NE IPA, cloudy orange with a dense white head.
Smells of berries, lemon, orange juice, a slight pine/grass edge too.
Nice taste, full of hops, orange grapefruit and something sweet like strawberry. Light caramel sweet base too, but the focus is obviously the hops.
Full, smooth juicy feel. Low bitterness. A slightly tart grapefruit edge, but not adding bitterness.
Overall very nice! I think this is my first beer from CT Valley Brewing, I'll have to look out for more.
Note: some people are afraid of Simcoe hops because of the supposed cat-pee smell. None of that here.
