If you’re going to do a series of Mosaic IPAs, you have to start with a single hop! As an introduction to our Mosaic Series, Sherwood, is an 8.2% New England Double IPA that showcases the amazing Mosaic hop. An abundance of Mosaic hops are added at different stages of the brew to impart a tropical fruit aroma with hints of fresh rose blossoms, before embracing your taste buds with notes of papaya and tangerine.

From the 16 fl. oz. can with a BB date of 01/12/21. Sampled Oct 24, 2020.

Th3 appearance is an opaque orange tone with a moderate, lingering white head.

Pleasing aromas of everyday fruit, blossoms, berries, and a lower profile white bread note.

Medium mouthfeel.

The fruit characters play up big in the taste and that is kind of nice. The breadiness and sweetness is also there at first but everything give way to the fruitiness. Nothing wrong with that.

On tap at Marilyns of Morgantown on Dave's 50th birthday. Bursting with peach and sour mango aromas, fresh and fruity on the tongue. Has a nice round mouth feel with a great bite on the top of the tongue.

Drank right from the can,

It was quite good. Typical NE DIPA. Nothing really spectacular.

Was it worth the 18 bucks I paid at CT Valley for a 4 of pint cans?

Hell no. When I'm in VT, I can get Heady Topper for about 15-16/ a 4 pack.

This stuff was pretty good, but it ain't no HT.

16 oz can into IPA glass. Dated Enjoy by date of 9/10/19.
Look is nice hazy yellow. Smell is tropical fruit. Taste follows nose with little grapefruit bite at the end. Feel is light to medium. Overall a very nice representation of one of my favorite hops.

Crowler from Big Fatty's, this was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a murky woody dark orange color capped by a thin foamy head. Wispy concave lace hung around the sides.
The aroma had orange pulp and mango up front then some sweet piney hops tailing some woodiness coming through those piney hops. Subtle white pepper at the far end.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side of the malts and hops adding in a subtle glance of lemon and guava. Mild aftertaste of bready malts, lemon, guava, mango and piney wood.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a decent enough sipping quality about it. Low carbonation as expected. Rolls nice enough along my tongue. Finish had the bitterness of those piney hops working with lemon, guava and mango.
Overall, nicely done imperial IPA, somewhat a New England styled one and a West coast styled one.
