Our classic Porter. Dark brown and malt-forward, this medium bodied brew hits you with a rich malt-derived coffee aroma from the first sip. Notes of toffee and biscuit, finishing with a slight chocolate sweetness. Just the ticket!

A decent porter.
Not bad at all, but not outstanding either.
I like the fact there are no adjuncts in there thank you very much!
Not much head but the flavor is solid.

“Enjoy by 10/30/21.”
L - poured dark brown/near black with 2-finger puffy dark tan head. However, this dissipated quickly. Fair/minimal lacing.
S - roasted malt with coffee/toffee mix.
T - nice toasty bite to it.
F - medium mouthfeel and fairly smooth. Slight carbonation and semi-dry finish.
O - was hoping for a little more from a beer that shares the title of one of my favorite movies (lol). But that aside, I’d have again if come across it.

I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride with these guys & their Spiked Smoothie series. Up & down, over & over. Well, that has never stopped The CANQuest (tm) in the past, nor is it ever going to. I mean, how CAN I drink, review & rate EVERY CANned beer in existence if I use snobbery as an excuse? Onward!

I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a steady, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I was both heartened by the pseudo-cascade & disheartened by the rolling, roiling two fingers of fizzy, foamy, deep-tan/light-brown head that quickly dissipated into wisps. 8=( Color was Very Dark Brown to Black/Opaque (SRM = > 34, < 44) with cola highlights at the edges. Nose was where it really beCAN to shine, though. I got immediate notes of anise & treacle, followed by Baker's chocolate & tobacco, finished with coffee, toffee & dried, dark fruits. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium & while on-par for the style, I would have liked a bit more density. The taste had a light sourness, which was more suited to the original English version, but no matter as the mélange of other flavors were very AmeriCAN in their roasty sweetness. In fact, I would CANter that this was a misidentified Robust Porter! That style calls for caramel, vice toffee, but there was a definite lack of hoppy bitterness which seems to be the demarcation line for an AmeriCAN Porter. No matter, either way. This was a fine Porter with lots of variegated flavors, ranging from sweet to bitter & including chocolate & toffee to anise & treacle. Finish was bittersweet or semi-sweet, not at all dry. This was a worthwhile offering from this brewery & a pleasant surprise. YMMV.

Pours a dark brown color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma is coffee and roasted malt. Tastes of coffee and dark chocolate. Smooth and slightly bitter at the end. Good mouth feel.

A: opaque; cola brown in color; 1+ finger medium brown head that receded to a thin collar; no lacing;
S; deeply roasted grain and bittersweet chocolate;
T: deeply roasted grain and bittersweet chocolate; from the middle through the finish, there's a somewhat harsh black coffee bitterness in the background;
M: medium bodied - feels a little thin; light to moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;
O: lacked body and had a harshness to the flavor that was off putting;
