very solid irish dry stout here, underrated here on BA for sure, and among the best beers we had when we visited if not hands down my favorite, a near textbook example of the style, robust on the dark grain but supremely drinkable too with the lower alcohol, smoothed all out from what must have been a nitro pour, so creamy! matte black in the glass, tidy and polished looking, with a nice foamy inch of suds with great retention. the aroma here has light smoke, decent bitterness, definite coffee character, and an almost woody weight to it, i can smell the irish ale yeast too, old worldy and really adding a lot to this, dry and fast to me too though, mineral forward and earthy, dry as they go, bready, clean. flavor is similar, hearty and sturdy, its a stout after all, but its so quick too, bitterness lingers slightly, this is creamy, but its got a briskness. bold, dark cocoa, espresso, dark bread, light brine type mineral composition, some protein, some slickness, very good and very well refined. i like the body and the palate overall, and think this deserves more credit than it appears to be getting. a really classic take on a style that seems less popular in the states than ever. a shame, but this is a great one, definitely have a pint when you visit these guys!

Poured from the tap into a pint glass at the Crystal Beer Palace in Savannah. The appearance is a pitch black with a tan head. The aroma is malt bliss.

Very good head retention on a classic dark stout body. Roasty, chocolatey aroma.
Very light, almost watery flavor. Roasty and a touch nutty, with an ashy char finish. Crisp and lively, too much so for a stout.
This is actually a pretty tasty beer. It packs a good amount of flavor into a very, very low ABV presentation, and doesn't stray much from the dry Irish stout style. It wouldn't be my first choice on tap, but I would absolutely take it over a Guinness if I'm in the mood for that style.

On tap in Atlanta where a brewery rep. listed the ABV as 3.8%.
Black with ruby edges. Soapy head.
Features massive dark roasted malt flavor with some char. Hints of bitter chocolate and black coffee. Mild bitterness.
O: too much char.
