Our porter is a full bodied, semi-sweet dark ale, with distinct notes of caramel and chocolate. A touch of English grown Fuggles gives balance to the complex malty sweetness. Brewed in the loving memory of our Brewmaster's grandfather, the Captain.

Mild, lightly carbonated and little chocolate flavor. It's almost impossible to find any porters/stouts or other high gravity brews made in the Savannah area (they seem to be stuck on IPAs) but this is a decent one although with a lot less body and flavor that would be expected.

Had Captain’s Porter, now a 6.00 ABV Robust Porter according to the brewery, at Moon River Restaurant & Brewery, Savannah, on draft into 18-oz. nonic pint.
Pours deep brown, apparently black until backlit, with 1-finger tan head, which soon dissipates to a persistent film, but leaves beautiful drapes of Belgian lace down the glass. Big aroma of roasted malts, followed by lighter aroma of grassy hops. Begins sprightly, but smooth and creamy, then big roasted malts, carrying through drying finish.
This porter looks the part, brings a big roasty aroma, and drinks smooth.

Good sweet stout. Happy with this dark beer on a cold day. This brewery makes a good dark beer and this will be my go-to when visiting this location.
