Brassy maple with a scattering of buttercreme lace.
The rye is immediately noted on the nose, with a double-barrel blast of bready spice and black pepper, underlain with toffee, dried pear skins, and whithered leaves.
Begins dry and full of crackery pils malts, as it slowly unfolds sweeter, nodding towards caramel and toffee, with yelps of apple and pear fruitiness. Breadier in the middle with a very forward spire of rye spice. From here on out, the spice grows and grows, with a stinging black pepper, hay, and notions of dried thyme. Hops slake the finish clean with German dead grass, and wilted flowers.
Medium built, no appearance from the alcohol. This is a drinker, despite its elevated strength. With a touch more malt assertion, this would be phenonenal.
