On tap at the brewpub. Kolsch works if you get it right, but it seems to be easy to get wrong and here I got a thin although appropriately carbonated sweet-sourness that wasn't intended and did not work together. Malting down of astringency could not hide the defects.

I have had a few poor experiences with this style, and this was basically mediocre. It poured a light amber, with a medium white head. It had a mild aroma, some floral and sweet notes, but nothing that really stood out. The flavors were slightly fruity, some alcohol, mild hops and malts. Nothing really to write home about. The mouthfeel was rather good, decently smooth and creamy. Overall a good try but not outstanding.

I was a little hesitent at first about ordering this beer because alot of American versions of Kolsch's are nothing more than golden ales,at least in my experiences but this is decent.Poured more of a straw color with a fluffy white head that retained quite well, floral efferevescent aromas over top toasted grain was pretty true to Kolsch form wich I liked.Delicate flavors lightly fruity with that toasty presence underneath there.A nice sociable beer my wife enjoyed as well,a solid Kolsch offering here.

I think this beer should actually be labeled a French Farmhouse Ale.
They had this one on nitro tap during my visit. The beer poured a nice dark gold with a just a skim of foam. Nice lacing.
The beer had a nice fresh smell. Lost of fresh bakery aroma with more than a bit of flowery hops.
Taste was very nice. The beer starts very mellow with a malt sweetness, think of one of those caramel suckers.. The hops move forward after the initial few sips. They have a very spicy/peppery taste that complements the sweetness of the malt.
Very soft creamy mouthfeel. Im not sure if that is due to the nitro, but it is outstanding.
Very drinakable session type beer. Dont pass this one up.

My least fav of the selection at this brewery, but not a bad beer. It would probably be the beer for most casual beer drinkers if they went in this brewery, for the experts skip it........CHEERS
