Georgia Honey Bock, i should have known better
my glass arrived with a finger's worth of head but faded early to an atoll with central island intact. lame copper hue
aromatically unremarkable. faint NW hop with ample honey, but little maltiness--not bockish
minimal lager malt taste, but fruity, hot (hot), sticky (date, brown sugar), bitter, dry, and thin--not bockish

Sampled on tap at the Brewgrass festival in Asheville, North Carolina. Consumed on 09/20/2008 and reviewed from notes taken at the time.
Ok so you knew I was going to be making a bee line for this beer as soon as I saw it come up on the tap list. The pour was done very well, rich dark honey colored amber was presented before me. A good bit of a head on top of it, though nothing terribly huge by any means. What was there though hung out for a good bit before finally settling down to just a thin veil across the top with more then adequate side glass lace.
The aroma was rich, much like a wheat wine or a braggot. You could smell the honey in here, and the rich, earthy malts were stealing the show already. Lots of bready characters and a touch of a light earthy hop as it started to come around. The flavor, wow, I remembered this one for the rest of the night once I tried it. Rich roasted malts stole the show here with a lush and creamy Mouthfeel that literally sat me back in my seat and made me take notice of it. Huge notes here of honey on the finish, very sweet, with an almost nutty like taste to it. Nice carbonation, though I will say it was kind of thick, almost coming across a bit syrup like, but still very nicely done. For 8% I could barely tell as this was just flat out good in every way.
Overall I thought this was a damn fine beer, one of the best there for sure. A bit different, but that's what makes it good. I would have no issue with getting a snifter full of this gem any day!

Served in a wine glass at Moon River (where it's brewed). Actually appropriate as it's a very appealing looking and smelling beer (like a peach schnapps on both counts). The feel is a little heavy (but not TOO), and the alcohol content (8.5%) makes an immediate impression. But the floral, honey flavor smooths it out.
Overall a better beer to look at than drink, but very drinkable nonetheless.

Served as part of their 4oz sampler tray.
Honey is very pronounced edging near a braggat. Both in the aroma and the taste. This produced a very taste with a very very light malt profile. Mild copper hue in color. Very fun body. The hops are non-existent until the finish were they are quite strong. Overall I think it's too sweet and I could barely finish the sample. Too Cloying.
