Brewed by Black Oak for the Victory Cafe Winter Cask Ale Festival. As far as I can tell, this is the base beer for the double chocolate cherry stout, and I think its a better one for not having the cherries.

Black body with a small tan head and some good lace. Malty chocolate aroma. The flavour is pure chocolate, and has a similar flavour profile to the offering from Young's and Rogue. There's also a nice balance between the roastiness and sweetness/creaminess, with it tipping to milk chocolate. The body is wonderfully thick and filling... not too far from chocolate milk, and it definitely works well on cask.

I'd love to see this as a year round offering from the brewery - this is the best offering I've had from them so far.
