On cask at the Black Oak 11th Anniversary party.
Poured a dark brown, almost black but is a bit lighter around the edges. Moderate brown head, some bubbles retain. Nose has some substantial sweetness, contributed to mostly by the vanilla bean. A touch of spice and some cocoa derived from the base beer, but the vanilla steals show. Taste doesn't take on as much of the vanilla as the nose, and the base spiced porter is showcased. Light ginger and other 'Christmas-sy' spicing, cinnamon among others. Spicy and roasty finish, with some bakers chocolate in there as well. Medium light feel, just a bit lighter than I'd like. Quite nice, better nose than the regular porter. Cask carbonation, borders on being flat. Better than the regular porter, but still suffers from the same issues as it - would love more body on this (as with the regular Nutcracker).
