A: Almost black with a light tan head, light retention, shows a little leg.
S: Overwhelming aroma of Scotch, and I'm good with that.
T: I was surprised by the flavour as well. There's lots of medicinal iodine that you get from a good scotch, not just that earthy peat flavour you get from peat-smoked malt. Fairly woody... It's really quite lovely, though it does cover a lot of Porters flavours. There's a bit of cola-like caramel flavour and some underlying roasted nut and cocoa. I love the Nutcracker on its own, but it's rather subdued here.
M: Moderate body is smooth with a drying alcohol finish.
O: Like Scotch?

Label just says "Barrel Aged" but this is aged in single malt scotch barrels to be specific.
Poured in to snifter.
A - Poured very dark brown, settled black with a thin layer of light brown head.
S - Big peaty scotch aroma up front with the base beer being completely drowned out by the barrel aroma.
T - Big peaty scotch flavour up front with some toasted oak also present. The base beer is completely overwhelmed by the scotch barrel and only the faintest hint of roast is present in the finish.
M - Light to medium body, slightly creamy. Light carbonation.
O - Despite not being the biggest fan of peaty scotch and the fact that this beer was fairly one-dimensional, I enjoyed this one a lot more than I expected.
