Took me forever to find out who actually brews this. Parkin's is readily available in all Sainsbury's, as its one of their featured products, but it's brewed by Carlsberg-Tetley.
Bought a four-pack of this, not knowing anything about it. A cheap bitter seemed appealing, so why not try it?
Pours a nice golden brown with a hint of orange or red, has a medium head with fizzy bubble, not thick or dense.
Aroma is mild and grainy, but smells nice.
Flavor isn't bad at all. It's relatively mild for a bitter, not complex or harsh.
Mouthfeel is a little weak. It's almost like "bitter lite," but the drinkability goes up simply because of the low ABV.
If you need something cheap that still has some dignity, Parkin's is the way to go.
