Poured into a pint glass from a growler from the brewery that a friend brought me.
Appearance: Pours a deep mahogany to light brown, with a nice, medium dense light beige head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma: malty sweet and tangy, with notes of wood and/or whisky.
Taste: Malty, sweet, rich, and full, with notes of brown sugar and very light stonefruit. Moderate fruity esters. Think Arrogant Bastard with half the hop bill.
Mouth: Moderately tingly carbonation, noticeable alcohol warmth.
Overall: Very drinkable, but not super complex or developed.
With all due respect to the previous reviewer who apparently entered this beer, I have to say that I think it's unimaginable that it's actually 12%. I'm going to e-mail the brewer and try to confirm the ABV, and will update my review.

Whoa!!! This is a HUGE beer. I am not sure if it is a Strong Ale or a Barleywine, but I am thinking Strong.
I chatted with the brewer, and he said this beer was probably about 12% abv... I don't think he was kidding.
Dark copper/brown in appearance, nice looking with a good head.
Beer smells very malty and the alcohol is certainly there too.
This was the first beer I have ever tasted that really reminded me of whiskey. It has a very whiskey malty quality, and more than enough alcohol to pack a punch.
A very good and interesting beer... very unique too. The only problem I saw, was after a "normal" beer, and then a pint of this... I was starting to really feel the alcohol and decided to stop. But this was a fun and enjoyable one to try.
