Yields a slightly clouded golden color with a bigger, froth white head.

Smells of overcooked peas, rustic toffee and wet grass among a note of glazed caramel.

Has a smooth, yet lively and refreshingly light mouthfeel, leading to a well balanced refreshment.

Tastes of soft hay, coumarin and orange zest, tied up by dry garden herbs and spicy toffee. Develops a rustic sweetness then, inheriting a gentle caramel note, while maintaining its floral, grassy and spicy hop profile. Finishes creamy with an aqueous softness among a lighter mineralic effervescence, sweet caramel and woodruff, balanced by a fitting, lasting dryness.

Very well done Zwickel with a great mouthfeel, allowing for subtle, well fitting nuances to be recognized.

Privatbrauerei Moritz Fiege Bochum “Zwickel”
€3,40/,3L vom fass @ Parkschlösschen, Bochum, DE

Look: Very hazy golden body beneath a full head of frothy white foam. Very good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Clean with grainy malt.
Taste: Very lightly sweet and bready malt is balanced by the slightest bit of herbal hop and a stiff bitterness. Short and dry finish.
Feel: Medium bodied with a gently crisp, seemingly natural fine-bubbled carbonation.
Overall: A decent enough zwickelbier although it lacks character.
