Tasted by half-pint at the Prince Albert, Brighton, where there were two other cask ales by Hepworth on tap upon my visit (Prospects and Pullman). Somehow the name is different from Hepworth's regular Sussex Bitter, hence the name submitted here.
A: clear amber hue, topped with a thin white froth and added with low carbonation.
S: faintly fruity hops (like Goldings but somewhat different) are followed by a mild tinge of berries and amber malts.
T: pear-drop and sour-yeasty hints come on a par with plummy and citric fruity hops and light pale malts, followed by an increasingly dry and bitter aftertaste to linger. A tad tangy in the end, quite chewy actually, like that of a sip of high-tannin roasted tea.
M&D: fresh, soft, light, true to a good pint of Sussex bitter, with an initial entry of curious yeastiness and a lingering hoppy mouthfeel in the end. But overall it was not a colourful bitter, to be frank.
