Deep, rich brown pour. Tight head, good lacing. Nose is fresh, coffee (duh) and biscuit-y malts. First sip is a malty taste with coffee in the mix. Nice dry mouthfeel, mild carbonation, just right for a porter. Letting it warm to cellar temperature reveals layers of taste and flavor. Could use a little more body, but that's a minor quibble. Ours was about 11 months old, so we are taking that into account.

The Jitterbug 12 oz. can poured dark with a nice tan head. The smell is all coffee. The taste is mostly coffee. I'm drinking this beer after dinner, and there's so much coffee I'm wondering if I'll be overcaffeinated for sleep tonight. The rest of the beer doesn't impress me so much. The malts seem underwhelming, and the beer is a bit watery. Overall, it's a good beer if you like coffee, but there are much better porters to be had.

Look: Poured and looks like a dark coca-cola. lots of bubbles on the glass edge. dark brown head dissipated quickly.
Smell: First whiff was a fresh milk, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, nuts
Taste: wow, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, peanut butter, nice and malty
Feel: coats the mouth well, and leaves a dry feeling
Overall: Delicious brew. Won't displace mocha merlin for when I want a coffee beer, but damn good.

Pours a very dark mahogany with a creamy tan head. Head dissipates very quickly leaving minimal lacing. The aroma is fresh ground coffee with hints of chocolate. The taste is a little sweet, coffee forward, with chocolate and vanilla in the back. Mouthfeel is smooth, not quite creamy, medium bodied.

Jitterbug is a delectable crisp coffee porter that has the perfect synergy of dark malt and coffee.
Aroma: High notes of coffee, chocolate and dark malt on the nose. Very unique coffee aroma.
Appearance: Beer pours beautifully with a creamy tan head; the body is black with a lovely reddish tint. Perfectly to style.
Flavor: Med-high roasted malt followed by a balance of chocolate/coffee with an aftertaste of medium bitterness (both from the hops and the coffee). No hop flavor. Med-low fruity esters. No off-flavors. No green pepper flavors that often come from coffee beers.
Mouth-feel: med-low body w/ med carbonation. No astringency due to coffee.
Overall: This is a very drinkable coffee porter. There is a great attention to detail between the coffee and malt - nothing overpowers and it all comes together beautifully. As this beer warms up, even more chocolate and vanilla notes come out. Well done.
