draught
Meringue like, thick, bright white and quite lacy head. Light amber appearance. Medium toast, caramelized malt, grapefruit/lemon peel and pine, in nearly equal unison, with a little rose like, floral nuance on periphery of the aroma. Good amount of grapefruit peel, a touch of pine and balanced amount of medium light toasted barley malt taste. This has a lighter body than an average IPA , but the hops are there. The finish is easy and fades at a moderate pace.

I had this beer on-tap in a big mug at the Mac & Jack’s Africa Lounge in Sea-Tac airport.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a dash of haze and a finger of creamy ivory foam leaving a nice lace.
Smell: sweet malt aroma with a light hop character. Inoffensive but pretty light.
Taste: moderately sweet malt with a kind of dank and musty hop flavor and robust bitterness. Not too bad, actually.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and decent creaminess.
Overall: a decent if unexceptional IPA.

Look: Opaque orange with suspended sediment visible and my pour brings about a nice head that slowly settles to a lid, leaving nice lacing on the glass
Aroma: Mandarin, rose, grapefruit, a little pine, cane berries, fir needles, and sweet bready malt
Taste: A huge punch of citrus fruits and conifers hit hard out of the gate and bready malt and berries soon work their way in to join. Resinous pine sap and fir needles (citrusy) are the driver of the middle and closes with a nice bite and more citrus
Mouthfeel: Full, a little slickness, medium-high carbonation, and a noticeable and enjoyable amount of dryness on the finish
Overall: This is tasty stuff. Honestly, I kind of always wondered if these folks made much more past their amber ale so was surprised and excited when I saw this at the local grocery store. It’s a tasty, mainly old-school hopped WCIPA that hits all the right notes for me but is also unique as the profile is new to me. Recommended

Hazy straw with little carbonation and 5 fingers of yellow lab head.
Smells like Mac and cheese, pineapple and Elmer’s glue.
The taste is the same.
Medium body with little carbonation.
I got this in Seattle and am drinking it in Redding, September 5th, 2019.

12 oz can- Pours hazy orange with minimal head. Aroma is juicy, tropical, mellow. The taste is tropical, fruity, like a cross between a normal IPA and a hazy. Medium level bitterness. Very good.

Best of the new IPA/APA lineup from the brewery. Glad to see they are no longer resting in their mediocre African Amber laurels, but they are still playing the safe and average field like the big name brewers of the craft beer industry.

A very good, enjoyable IPA that started as a seasonal offering but has now become Mac and Jack's year-round IPA. Look is a hazy, light golden amber. Medium bodied, and well balanced with a malty, moderately hoppy flavor. It has a definite citrus accent, but not overly pronounced. Poured into a nonick imperial glass at 38 degrees and 9 PSI

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a three finger white head that dissipates slowly, leaving great lacing. Aroma of lightly biscuit malt, citrus and grassy hops and lemon; a little earthy. Flavor is biscuit malt, citrus and grassy hops, dry hay, lemon, grapefruit, very light mixed tropical fruit in the middle with a lightly resinous grassy and citrus finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess and nice mouthfeel. I hoped for a malty IPA from these guys (I like their malty African Amber a lot), and they delivered. The profile is kind of old fashioned with a classic citrus and grassy profile, but with some bright citrus notes. Hints of other fruit and malt flavors rumble around during the taste. Well done.
