Poured a thick, viscous, opaque black color; thin, brown head, thicker on subsequent pours; thin, sticky sheets of foam adhere to the glass. Outstanding aroma; dark chocolate and cherries, raisins; dried pitted fruits. The taste picks up on the smell and amplifies things; milk chocolate; cherries and strawberries; low-key booziness; a faint hint of leather. Very heavy body; dense and slippery; a nice undercurrent of alcohol warmth.
This is a lovely, very balanced and complex barrel aged imperial stout. It exudes a strong dark malt sweetness. The head, while thin, is long lasting. The mouthfeel is incredibly viscous and slippery, coating the palate with long-lasting flavors.
ABV: 13.5%; pouring temperature: 43 °F; bottling info: aged 12 month in Cadée Distillery bourbon barrels

bottle into glass
Thin outer ring of medium brown head. Nearly black, opaque DARK brown. Upon pouring, there was noticeable viscosity. Aroma, a heavy, caramel, toffee, sweet molasses and dark roasted grain behind the toasted barrel & bourbon smells. Sweet, heavily toasted grain & barrel to start off the taste, with a malted molasses and some toffee and caramel, during the mid-taste. Finishing with the heavily toasted oak trailing off to the dark roasted grains. Swirling it in glass, shows a thick, nearly oily film on glass. This style is a top sipping beer in general and this one fits the bill.

OK, hoping to break up the lineup of the damned tonight, I pop open this black-waxed 22 oz. bottle to share with my lovely wife.
It’s farking black. All black. Little Head. Smells like an improvement.
Stand Still meets expectations, which in my annual work review is an A+ triumph. Bourbon, toasty roasty malts, light vanilla, with a black licorice finish longer than A Night at the Roxbury 6.
A good if unremarkable stout.

Pitch black pour with a limited brown collar and surface islands. Wonderful bourbon nose with caramel, molasses, baker's chocolate, toasty oak, vanillins, light toffee and sweeter dark fruit. Warmer bourbon with brighter oak is omnipresent in the taste, baker's chocolate, caramel, trace amounts of coconut, and rounding roasted malt. Feel is lighter in the body, but has enough barrel character to carry, roasted malt is solid too, finishes dry. Nice debut

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a nearly black, appearing opaque black in the glass with a half finger brown head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, whiskey, chocolate, licorice and a touch of vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt, chocolate, licorice, light molasses and dark dried fruit, whiskey. Whiskey, licorice and mild caramel in the finish, a bit boozy. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess and nice mouth feel. A top notch barreled stout. A bit hot, but actually can taste some of the barrel's distinct whiskey character, which is not common in this style. Great chocolate and licorice character with milder influence of dried fruit and caramel. Good mouth feel finishes off the appeal. Mac & Jack's has a low profile despite being around a long time. They are one of my standbys for restaurant beers because their African Amber is often on tap and a great malty dinner beer. Stand Still shows they have barreled beers mastered too. I stumbled on this bottle in an odd place and wish I had bought two. I may have to make a pilgrimage out to Redmond when this comes out next year.

I received a bottle from BEER88 in a most generous trade box. Thanks!
This beer is OUTSTANDING. It is up there with BCBS and Parabola in my Pantheon of non-adjuncted stouts. If you can get it, try it.
It's not often I can write a great beer review. This is not one of those times. All I can say is I know what I like. If you love BCBS or Parabola, you'll love this stout also.

Definitely up there with BCBS in all levels. Look was pitch black motor oil with a tan head. Smell was bourbon, chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, dark fruits. Taste followed the nose and was delicious. Feel was chewy and slick. Overall outstanding and I am definitely gonna stock up on this
