This was an excellent Porter that I sampled at the head of steam pub outside of Euston station in London. The appearance is very dark brown, that is nearly black. There is also a small layer of espresso coloured foam laying on top of this brew. Nice. The aromas are of [milk] chocolate, caramel, honey, sweet roasted malts, and sweet french press coffee. The taste is amazing as well. Chocolate and honey up front, with caramel and roasted malts in the middle, and fresh green hops in a lingering, slightly roasty finish. Mouthfeel is creamy, smooth, cask goodness and drinkability is great as well. I forget the abv% on this one, but I do remember that it was pretty low. I'm thinking 4.5%.
