21st April 2012: opening of the refurbished ‘Elephant and Castle’ in Dawley, Shropshire. Hand pulled pint of a golden misty body, on top a thin crown of white bubbles sat throughout the tasting.
The smell was of citrusy hops with floral overtones, only a suggestion of malts in the nose.
The taste was a pleasant blend of those aforementioned hop flavours and a malt caramel feel.
Body depth fine for the alcohol content: an OK beer but no world beater.

Guess Mark has discovered a real winner~~
This is a guest ale at my local Wetherspoon pub, and they have stored quite several barrels of it for this autumn/fall time. Why? because it's tasty and so good.
A: it pours a very dark orangey golden hue, coming with an incredibly tight froth almost like being poured from a nitro tap~~ rather like cappucino's milk froth--leaving very fine and nice lacing too.
S: semi-sweetish hoppy--bone-dry zesty hoppyness+semi-stinky vegetation and hayish aroma. Overall, hoppy, with a good malty base.
T: lively texture of lightly sweetish pale malts+tangy orange-peel--mouthful of hops, mixed of peach-blossoms, orange-zest, and a spicy/tannic sting, turning very very dry with a green-tea like medium bitter and quite clean and crisp finish. Lingering hop presence in the aftertaste.
M: very light bodied with lots of flavour for a golden bitter at just 3.8%abv.; good balance is reached though there's a slighlty thin mouthfeel in the end.
D: a very dry golden bitter--extremely quaffable and thirst-quenching, even in autumn or winter~~ Recommended.

Medium amber ale was topped by a lasting white head that left patterns of excellent lace. Fresh hay like aroma. Smooth, did I say smooth? Well hopped with a solid malt base. Excellent balance and very refreshing. One of my favorite cask ales that I discovered on my b'day trip. I ask you this advocates, why drink anything but real ale?
