My experience with Fearless Porter was an entirely pleasant one. The menu informs you, this is a mellow session beer and it is certainly not a stout. It pours a deep brown with a slight tinge of purple, and a very good tight head. The aroma is pure milk chocolate, which also characterizes the taste. Lots of chocolate, lots of caramel, very little roastiness or burnt toast flavor and essentially no bitterness. The mouthfeel was creamy and the finish was dry, almost vacant. The premature finish compels you to drink more and the beer is highly drinkable.

Though Im sorry to say it, this is a pretty bad beer. It starts well enough with a substantial roasty flavor, but soon collapses into a dilute bitterness offset by a tactile astringency. As it draws to a finish, the bitterness hinges upon an unwelcome tartness.
The aroma is also momentarily pleasing with some grain and fruit to it, but there is a larger problematic element at play creating a smell awash in phenols.
A dark cola color, minimal head, and no lace whatsoever characterize the rest of this indistinct porter.
