*2021 Version labeled "Scotch Ale" and 9.0% ABV
Look: Amber-brown on the pour and my aggressive effort brings on an eggshell-colored head that swells slightly and quickly settles to a film, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Warm brown bread, wafts of peat smoke, toffee, melanoidin, light fruity esters, and dark fruit notes
Taste: Toffee and rich, bready malt kick it off and quickly followed by a nice punch of peat smoke, along with some melanoidin. Fruity esters linger in the background as bread and dark fruit battle for position and eventually rejoined by smoke on the close
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, medium carbonation, some alcohol heat, and a soft, smooth finish
Overall: This is tasty stuff. I dig what these folks do and I like their Scottish ale quite a bit so when I saw this, I was needless to say, elated. An awesome Scotch ale that hits all the right notes for me but that also is approachable for those not into or familiar with the style as the peat-smoked barley aspect isn’t ridiculously strong or overpowering. A perfect companion for this cold evening

First off, how the *hell* am I the first to review this beer since 2005?!?!? Sorry, Ken, you deserve better...
A nice surprise; though I've had this brew a number of times on-draught, I found it today at Kelly's Olympian (downtown Portland) for a mid-day pint. Nicely priced at $4.
A: The mildest haze in an auburn pour. Lazy carbonation streams, some rising with purpose, some with a languid meander. Scarce head, a filmy patch with outstreched tendrils. Sultry, alluring.
S: Sweet and fruity, a vague peaty smokiness. Wish it had a little more balance and complexity, but it's certainly not bad to sniff...
T: Tons of toffee; a sweeter slant, but with enough spice and vaguely-balancing hops to please anyone. Lasting notes of crushed pear, ripe apple, even a little sweet citrus...then plenty of grain. Liquified breakfast cereal, if you ask me, with a dash of booze...
M: A mellow/smooth feel that feels just slightly undercarbonated. Warming of alcohol comes in ripples, rather than waves. Medium body.
D: Maybe not the most complex, mold-breaking Scotch, but certainly an enjoyable one. Watch it, or it'll catch up with you, highly recommended for a lover of malty ales. Well done, Fearless; you know I'll be back for more.

Had only time for one pint at Fearless and happily they had a Scotch ale.
Dark brown,, almost mahogany ale, small tan head , that goes very fast , leaving good laceing. Very little carbonatioon present.
Very malty aroma, slightly roasty in character.Nice on a cold day.
The taste again is on style full of lovelly maltiness, and warming alcohol, the alcohol is detectable but it actually lends something to the beer , rather than detracts. Its not quite as sweet as some Scotch ales, but still in style. Very nice stuff.
Good mouthful, like a good Scotch the mouthfeel is not thick, but nice and smooth.
Very good drinkability for one s strong. Wish i had the cash for a Growler.
