Look: Opaque burnt orange with a pure white head that settles to a film quickly, leaving behind good lacing
Aroma: Citrus hops, earthiness, sweet honey-dipped bread-like malt notes, and some fruity esters abound. Honestly, this smells like a fresh homebrewed beer, which in my opinion is a good thing
Taste: Some citrus, berries, and sweet malt all come onto the scene and tango for a while. As they fade, some earthiness creeps in and a light bite sends things off
Mouthfeel: Full, soft, medium carbonation, and a slightly sweet but still hoppy finish with zero dryness
Overall: I dig it but this one is tough for me to rate very objectively. It drinks more like a pale ale to me but also has the very distinct ‘homebrewed’ or ‘freshly tapped’ beer taste that I’m sure others know what I mean but I can’t describe it more precisely than that. Since I personally love that note, I think it’s tasty but YMMV

16 oz. single can from Capital Market in Salem OR.
$2.99
Pours a darker burnt orange colour the beer is partially hazy..lovely huge thick and frothy cream coloured head.
Aromas of pine woods and orange groves! Orange peel and pine hopping..strong caramel malt back bone.
This is a malt driven IPA in the taste yes the pine is there but the malts are on show..nice chewy toffee/caramal..the pine/orange hopping takes over for a bit at the end. Has a certain old style/English feel.
Mouth feel is fine for the style//medium carbonation medium to heavy body.
Not a modern IPA at all..this could be 1995..but its fine enough.

Bought a 4pk of 16oz cans at Grocery Outlet in St. John 's OR on Jan 2/19. No canning date info provided.
Pours a (very slightly) cloudy gold, with a nice head that dissipates thinner...but well carbonated. A solid start!
Taste is slightly bready; clean with grassy hints. Some bitterness,, but none of the currently typical hop aroma & citrusy flavors upfront. Aftertaste is slightly resiny, minor dryness.
ABV says 7.5%...but I suspect it's more in the lower 6's. Not a complaint as much as an observation.....quite easy to drink, could even be very sessionable.
Thor's Hammer IPA is a good NW IPA. Maybe more of a 'paddle' than a hammer (maybe save that moniker for a 9% stout !), but a good beer.
Much respect for a talented homebrewer living the dream. Nice job.
Addendum: Had the third of 4 cans today...got some small, straw-like bits in my glass from the can. I still drank the beer, but it was a bit offputting. QC needs work.
