Pours clear golden beer with ample white head, notable retention. Smell is intense - barley malts and hops, close to bubble blower or washing powder. Taste of malts, accentuated with ample hop bitterness. Well - balanced landbier, medium body and carbonation. Specific, but actually good german beer.

Tall thin-necked brown half liter bottle with a multi-colored label featuring some old guy with a white beard, German hunting hat, rifle slung over his shoulder and a big mug of beer. (Mmm, weapons and alcohol, good combination!) Purity law applies. Best before 6/24/04, I opened it on 4/13/04.
Pours clear gold under a 1.5 finger white head with some body, staying power and lace. The nose is slightly sour, like bad watermelon, but in a good way. The mouth is fairly prickly and medium bodied. The opening leaves a sourmash impression, but this is quickly overcome by a good deal of smooth bitter hops. The finish is all flowery bite. The aftertaste retains the hops for a good long while. They use the same sourmash malt so common in cheap Russian beers (see Zhigulovskoye), but hop it up enough to make it pleasant.
