Notes of fresh bread, honey, and a touch of herbal hops. A smooth, well-rounded palate, with a malty sweetness and a hint of bitterness.

Poured from a can into a champagne flute.
Look: Golden yellow with a fluffy white head. Cloudy. Lacking in head retention, but the lacing is alright.
Smell: Sweet malt. Some hop bitterness rounds it out.
Taste: Malty and semi-sweet. Mildly bitter. Honey, especially on the finish. Quite a bit of lemon citrus.
Feel: Light-Medium bodied and good carbonation.
Overall: A fine beer, if a little simple. This would go great with food.

Pours a nice golden color and medium head. It has fairly neutral aroma. The taste is bitter grains with a hint of honey. Not sure what a Land bier is. Looked it up and it means "local". Smooth easy drinking & tasty. BOD 4-1-2025

Costco Pseudo Advent Beer Calendar Day 13. Light hazed yellow gold. Malty and light grainy, aroma and flavor. Good balance with no real sweetness. Light to medium bodied, crisp, clean, and refreshing.

This is one of the best so far in the Costco Biergarten box. Helles are usually good, and this is good.

Name: Nova Cella
Brewery: Klosterbrauerei Nuzelle GmhB
Location: Nuzelle, Germany
Style: Helles
ABV: 4.8%
Canned: 04 January 2025
Date: 15 November 2025
Pushing forward with the German Beers, I am trying a Helles. I am using a vintage Michelob flute glass and serving the beer at 42 degrees. The pour created a frothy, creamy, foamy, two-fingered head with above-average retention. The slow dissipation left chunks of lacing on the glass. The color is pale yellow with a light straw hue, charting at SRM 4, and is clear. The overall appearance of this beer is above average.
Nosing the beer, I detect notes of lightly toasted malts, floral esters, a grassy note, bay leaves, resin, mineral, and malty sweetness.
The flavors start with light toasted bread, floral and grassy lightly toasted malts, metallic, resin, herbal, a hint of phenols, and malty sweetness.
The mouthfeel is slightly astringent, finishing crisp and clean. The body is light and medium-plus-carbonation.
Final Thought: The Helles is delicious, but has an odd, light metallic/mineral note that keeps it from being great. Overall, a delightful beer to start a busy Saturday with.

500 ml can coded "P: 20/05/2025 E:20/11/2026 06:55:55 27". Sampled on 21/10/2025
$59.99 / 24 can case - Costco's Biergarten Collection, Costco, Christiana, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: So what is this? I've never really understood what a landbier (country beer) is? I've had them both light and dark in color, and at differing strengths. Anyway, it's poured a hazy golden body beneath a full head of white foam that's holding remarkably well. In the nose it's lightly sweetish, softly floral, and somewhat metallic. Odd. Is that a mineral characteristic? On to the taste then, oooohhhhh, it's metallic. That's a bummer. It completely kills the beer, and there's almost no reason to continue on with this review. The malt is otherwise grainy, lightly sweet, and a hint grassy (unless of course that's hops). The hops that I'm clearly finding are floral and lightly spicy with a very minor underlying herbal edge. It's got a restrained but balanced bitterness, and it finishes mainly dry but without a lot of lingering bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium, and the carbonation level is median giving it a little tingle on the tongue before warming to become smoother. It's a real shame about the metallic character because it would otherwise probably be quite nice. My guess is that it didn't happen in brewing, but rather in processing and packaging down the line.

Clear pale amber brew with plenty of foam in the Troubadour tulip. Some aroma of toast and grass. Warm and malty and it is definitely sweet but not too much. A pleasant taste of cereal with a grainy finish of whole wheat bread. some bitter, green, and herbal hops emerge in the aftertaste. This is definitely a quaff, but I think it would help to be really thirsty. From the 500 ml can in the Biergarten box.

From the half liter can in the 2025 Costco Biergarten Collection, it pours a hazy light amber color with a modest white head that diminishes to a ring but does leave some lacing. Nose gets some sweetish malt scents with honey notes. The mouth follows with a slightly sweet flavor with some modest bitterness at the end and beginning.
