suprisingly good brew this. cost me $8 au for a six pack, and they lasted all of two hours. i will just say for karlos' benefit, the portrait on the bottle is a self portrait of the great rembrandt himself. as far as the beer goes it was generous in flavor, had a fair level of complexity, and as said earlier, was dirt cheap. not surprising for dutch lagers, but the quality far exceeded the likes of oranjeboom and bavaria.
deeper gold in color for a lager, the usual head and carbonation, but the body seems a bit fuller in texture than normal. great nose that is big on malt and has grassy elements staying behind some sweetness. taste reflects the same, the malt is very persistent, and moves very well into a smooth hoppy taste the finishes bitter but rich. overall goes very well, not hugely complex, but a nice tasty flavor, great finish, and well worth drinking for the duration of a night on the brewskis..
not in the league of classics, but a very nice beer that is all but being given away and is a hell of a lot more enjoyable than beers three times its price. if you see it, get it, even just for the end of pay week standby.
