On draught at the Concord brewpub, pours an impenetrable black body with a small brown head with good retention and glass lacing. Aromas are unapologetically big on espresso and char, potatoes roasted 'til they're blackened and burned. Taste begins slightly sweet with coffee dominating the mid and back palates. Cocoa nib bitterness makes a small appearance on the finish. Medium bodied, a bit simple due to the dominance of the coffee over everything else, but good.

Enjoyed on tap at the EJ Phair Pittsburg location. While I'm not normally a huge fan of the EJ Phair offerings, this Stout was pretty impressive. Very black with a nice khaki head. Huge coffee notes as there should be (40 gallons of hand pressed Steeltown coffee in this one). I recently had a Founders Breakfast Stout from a great trade partner, so the Steeltown was a little bit of a let down, but still a solid beer. Would try this one again.
