Technically this is an oatmeal stout. It tastes "fine" in the same way that cheap beers taste fine. I had this beer as part of a sampler and it was perhaps my favorite of the batch but that is not praise. At least with this one it seemed close to the style.

Had a pitcher of this on-tap for $10. After having the mediocre-at-best Pale Ale, I figured this would at least be better... and it was. Roasted coffee and chocolate flavors, along with a slight "twang" on the finish. Not of the highest quality, but it was still a pretty tasty, relatively thick stout. The highlight of the beer was probably the color and head -- the smell was also very pleasant. The taste, while having a thick mouthfeel with a good amount of coffee and chocolate flavors, wasn't as "popping" as the majority of ones that I have had. Pretty forgettable, but much better than the pale ale and cream ale.
