The beer arrived at the bar clear medium to deep amber (kinda in beween) with a white frothy head which lasted well to coat the glass.
The aroma was malty with a light fruitiness but a huge tobacco aroma. (By tobacco I mean the smell that occurs when you store a large amount of tobacco after curing in a warehouse prior to processing.) Also the aroma contained some dark fruits, namely raisins and prunes and a slightly vinous character.
The flavor was quite bitter with a slight sourness. The malt presence was complemented by fruit flavors, this time mainly prunes. The tannins were noticeable in the flavor.
The finish was dry, bone dry with lasting fruit character. The body was medium and well done.
Pint at Summits in Sandy Springs, GA. Certainly interesting, but not a favorite. Try if you must.
