Ruby-tinted brown with a finger of light tan head that lasts a short while before leaving a thin crown and thin sheets of lacing.
Huge aroma of vanilla and toffee. Some floral hops. A slight metallic tinge in the background as well.
There’s a nice, light cherry and red plum note that lingers throughout the taste just behind the toffee, caramel and vanilla custard bread-pudding flavors. It definitely has some Americanized hop bitterness, but it’s kept in check by fairly strong Bourbon sweetness. There’s just a little alcohol heat and a hint of wood in there, too.
Very creamy feel with decent carbonation.
Dangerously easy-drinking. This is a great barrel showcase, with lots of sweet flavors and a great “red fruit” element, all of which are offset somewhat by the hops.

This stuff is SUCH a surprise. Its fantastic! If you see some, trust me, buy it and try it. Its just about in the category of Bourbon County Barleywine and Curmudgeons Better half. Slightly less heavy but more drinkable than both. An impressive beer!

On tap at the brewery taproom in August 2018.
Pours with a dark copper body that is topped with a very good beige head.
Moderately strong flavor for style with a nice bitter-sweet mix; plenty of sweetness here but bittering hops try to fight back and eventually dominate the aftertaste.
Medium+ body with near medium-light carbonation, plus alcohol dryness and some heat.
