This is a very complex and delicious stout. It is the best stout I have ever had, and I try a lot of them. The flavors come in waves and merge at the end for a great lingering finish. The stout does not have the excessive sweetness that hamper many of the others. Perfection!

Looks pretty dark throughout, had some nice foam on pour, but didn’t really last and there’s not much lacing. Pretty standard.
Bourbon barrel smell is in the forefront with a big woody tang, roasty malt in the middle, with subtle notes of coffee, maple, chocolate, slightly smoky. Nice depth.
Quite tasty. Strong barrel presence is what jumps out. Plenty of smoky wood flavors. Roasty dark malt, notes of coffee and chocolate. A little more age might make the barrel presence a bit more subtle, but that seems like a trifle of a complaint.
Feel is very good for a barrel aged stout. Medium bodied and mouth watering. Not oily and not thick. One of those “just right” stouts. Definite alcohol presence. Quite enjoyable to drink.

Pours a dark brown almost black with a finger of tan head.
Smells of roasty malts, dark fruits, mild barrel notes.
Taste follows with the roasty malt, plum, raisin, some dark chocolate. The barrel is there but like the nose it is mild, a bit of char, vanilla, low alcohol. Taste lingers.
Just shy of full bodied but not what I would consider thin by any means.
Overall a solid BA RIS. Really enjoying what Atlanta Brewing Company has been releasing lately.
