A: Opaque acorn brown with shades of garnet. 2 fingers of mousse like head. Faint lacing
S: Has the essence of a summer bramble. Dark fruits, bitter chocolate, nutty and toffee malts. The smell of piney hops on the nose are quite prominent.
M: Prickly sensation from pine bitterness. Medium-full body and low carbonation. Not much alcohol warmth is present, barely noticeable.
T/O: Woody and earthy. Fairly high tannic quality that gives itself over to an acorn nuttiness. Very resinous with a bitter juniper berry and pine taste. Also, hints of darker chocolate bitterness. Sweetness derived from black raspberry and apple fruits. I don't think this was aged very long as the hops seem to maintain a strong presence in aroma. The complexity in this beer is subtle but impressive. I really hope they decide to put barrels for some period of time.
