This is an imperial stout mixed w/a gose, but at 9.0% ABV, I'd assume it would be mostly stout.
A: Flat and ominous black with a grape greyness. The gose really comes to light as the head quickly fizzles away.
S: Rich fruit-like tannins. Chocolate earthiness, coffee-like roastiness.
M: Mod to full body. Low carb, kinda flat. Kinda saved by initial sharp and salty sting. relatively smooth finish.
T: This beer reminds me of one I had recently by Rushing Duck, De Levende Doden, which was ultimately richer. This beer is almost wine-like in taste. Aided by salt, the tartness of black and blueberry dominates with some dark cherry. Lacks any sweetness b/c of sour wheat beer base. Really good tasting bitter cocoa nib flavor to finish.
