It's Suntory Time! Well, this isn't quite as good as the whiskey, but it's a decent beer in it's own. It's much better than any other Japanese beer I've had.
It pours a dark brown color with a thick tan head that quickly disappears. The smell is quite malty, there is little hop aroma, and a slight metallic smell (I guess from the can). The taste is very malty, with very little bitterness at all, yet it's not overly sweet. It has much more body than any typical Japanese beer, more even than any typical Japanese "dark" beer. It's very light for a "dunkel" style, and very easy to drink.

Ingredients: Malts, hops and "natural water"
Jet black body, an inch thick brown head, no, wait, half an inch, no, wait, no head. Smells very similar to Suntory's regular Malt's, but with more of a bread crust and less of a hop presense.
The mouth feel is remarkable for a lager, or even a Japanese ji-beer. Smooth as a panther at night. Taste is pleasant, with the dark bread crust taste and miminal hops. despite having a low hop profile, I like this beer and now that I am saving all my loot and not spending it all on beer, this is the inexpensive (still a buck fifty a can) alternative to which I will turn.
