Discover the Brand New Draft of the 21st Century!
Appearance: Generic yellowy brass color with a generic snowy white head. Good lacing and fair retention, though.
Smell: Carrots, lettuce, peas. Malt-esque sweetness.
Taste: Sweet in a really weird, diet soda way, though the can says this thing has sucralose in it, so that's not a total surprise. Otherwise I find this to be surprisingly beery - some fresh grain taste with a estery hop presence. Overall, very dry and sort of fruity from the hops. Finish is kind of gross, though, like corn mixed with Sweet & Low. This may not be deserving of even a 2.5, but I'm willing to be generous to a beer as artificial as this.
Mouthfeel: Juicy, almost syrupy, clean, but actually too heavy, in my opinion. I want the carbonation to be brighter.
Drinkability: Let's make one thing quite clear - as a beer, this is rubbish. But as a half-calorie happoshu brewed with artificial sweeteners, artificial bittering agents, and citric acid, this is not at all bad.

i have been avoiding this one, with the thought that the only thing that can be worse than happoshu is diet happoshu ! its not as bad as i thought, but pretty crappy
pale, clear yellow, nice big head, looks like every other japanese brew. medium light carbonation, sticks a little to the glass. wow. smells like corn on tap water soaked cardboard. grasping, searching for some scent of malt or hop... not much for the nose
oh my god, i thought i bought beer !? i accidentally got lemon diet pepsi. acid, almost painful to swallow, each swallow makes me cringe and shiver. at 3.5% the lightest beer i've ever had.
i will never get this again, i prefer coca cola.

This is a happoshu with less than 25% malt content.
Ingredients are malt, hops, barley, citric acid, saccrified starch, acid (?), sweetner, bittering agents.
Pure white head, transparent yellow body, corn aroma. Sweet juicey grain flavor. This tastes like what I imagine "malt juice" would taste like. A non-hoppy bitterness lingers.
Although this is devoid of character, I would pull for one of these instead of a cola.
