I would put the name of this beer more closely at "Wheat Luxury" but wheat treat rhymes better. Actually, I believe that there is no translation of mugi into English komugi being wheat and omugi being barley. Cereal might be a good translation, except corn is a cereal crop that is not included in the word "mugi". I think that most commonly mugi means barley, but it includes oats, rye and wheat.

This is a fantastic beer for the style. But then again, that like saying "its lovely weather for a snow storm".

A - clear yellow body with small white head.
S - Malty aroma.
T - Nice clean, light malty flavor (no wheat), no hops or bitterness. Crisp. It actually tastes like beer, without any of the adjunct horror common in Japanese rice lagers. I would take this over Asahi Super Dry any day.
M - Light bodied, refreshing carbonation.
D - Have with yakisoba and you will not be disappointed.

154 calories per can.
Ingredients: beer, liqueur (wheat), carbonated water.

a new happoshu from suntory, and not too bad. a rough translation of the name of this "liqueur" is a wheat treat.

clear, pale, yellow, looks like a normal happoshu except that the head sticks around for a couple minutes. almost nothing to smell, which is also average for the style, but at least the tiny hint that u imagine u are smelling and tasting is not repulsive. at least it smells like beer, unlike some other happoshus that smell horrible.

i dont taste wheat at all. metallic and dull with a nasty aftertaste, unfortunately that's pretty average for the style so it gets a 3 for taste. but i will not purchase this again, i'll take super blue if i need a beer flavored beverage.
