the design for this beer was (in my humble opinion) ill-devised. it took me ages to realize this was some kind of new, different offering from this macrobrewery. anyway, i will review it with an open mind...
regular-looking beer, golden lager. medium-low carbonation. this is a rather unimpressive beer in appearance. big fluffy head dies down quickly. smell is interesting. big malt, as well as a definite hop profile, but unfortunately it's there... tap water. this suntory "quality brew" has a really familiar smell.
not bad. i consider this one of several OK japanese lagers. it's perhaps just barely an acceptable take on the german pilsener syle. it's hardly bitter compared to a good pils. not so bitter. but it has a nice taste, could be great for washing down some chicken wings. highly drinkable.
