Sunday was to have been the ocCANsion of my Happy New Russo-Japanese-Vietnamese-Chinese CANned Beer Sunday, CANrades (Week 754) (добро пожаловать обратно в С новым русским-日本人-Tiếng Việt-中文 Пиво воскресное, товарищи (неделя 754), but I only have one Vietnamese CAN & the Chinese beers bogged down because of needing either/both adds & pics. 8={} I am now back on track.
From the CAN: "Uses only aroma hops that are twice as rich in both taste and aroma. It is a limited brew only for this Winter. You CAN enjoy the gorgeous fragrance that comes from combining 3 types of aroma hops in a balanced manner."
How VERY interesting! I have learned, since the time of my adding this beer, that it is/was a Hopposhu brewed for the Winter of 2015/'16 as a "Limited Brew". Hmm. I had received it in a box from a fellow in China when I was still actively seeking CANs for The CANQuest (tm). Once it finally arrived, literally via slow boat from China, I put it the Beerfrigerator & promptly forgot about it until now.
It came in what seemed to me to be a wee 350-ml CAN, but it works out to just under 12-fl. oz., going to show how prevalent 16-fl. oz. CANs have become. I Cracked open the vent & beCAN an inverted Glug since I did not think that the CANtents were as big as they turned out to be. Ooops! Thankfully, it was forgiving & formed just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention. Color was a pretty Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, enticing The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Croesus & Midas to get off of my couch, where they were watching the PGH Pirates (Love ya, black & Gold!) & come running into the kitchen for a taste. Nose had an interesting perfuminess: sweetish, aromatic, not bitter or bittering, but definitely hop-driven! Wow. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was very light & unobtrusive with only the lightest bitterness discernible. It almost did seem like they had used much in the way of malt(s), but then I started to wonder what they used for fermentable sugars. Finish was actually semi-dry, leaving me more CANfused than ever. What a little oddball!
